4. Remove the screws and the inner shifter boot.

5. Remove the bolts and the gearshift lever.

6. Remove the gearshift lever boot.

CAUTION: Cover the opening in the extension housing to prevent contamination.

Clean the gearshift lever mounting surfaces.

8. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Apply a 3.2-mm (1/8-in) bead of silicone rubber to the sealing surface on the gearshift
