CHARGING VOLTAGE INSPECTION

Make sure the battery is in good condition before
performing this test.
Do not disconnect

Measure the voltage on the multimeter when the
engine runs at 5,000 rpm.
STANDARD:
Measured BV < Measured CV < 15.5 V
BV = Battery Voltage (page 16-6)
CV = Charging Voltage (page 16·8)
ALTERNATOR CHARGING COIL
INSPECTIOI:\I
Remove the floor step (page 3-7).
Disconnect the alternator/starter 3P connector.
Measure the resistance between the RedNellow,
Red/White and Red/Blue wire terminals of the alter-
nator/starter side connector.
STANDARD: 0.05 - 0.5
Check for continuity between each wire terminals of
the alternator/starter side connector and ground.
There should be no continuity.
Replace the stator if the resistance is out of specifi­
cation, or if any wire has continuity to ground.
Refer to page 1 2-4 for alternator/starter replace­
ment.
