The exciter coil test is used to determine the

output voltage, in DVA, from the exciter coil (1),
located on the coil plate assembly (2) to the CD Unit while you are
cranking the engine.
1. Disconnect the following terminals:

2. Set the digital multimeter to ohms and connect the leads between
the following terminals to read the resistance of the exciter coil:
