1. Wire the 4285/4286 Phone Module exactly as shown, using direct-connect cords and jacks.
2. If you hear an error signal (fast busy signal) when trying to access the system via the phone, check
for correct line seizure wiring, as described in note 3.
3. Connection to the incoming telecom line via a 611 jack and direct-connect cord, as shown in this
diagram, is essential, even if the system is not connected to a central station for alarm monitoring.
The 4285/4286 will not function if this is not done.
You must connect the premises phone lines to the 611 jack and not to the control jack.
Otherwise, you will hear an error signal (fast busy signal) when you are trying to access
the system from an on-premises phone.
4. If the telephone system on the premises includes a stand-alone Caller ID unit, connect the ID unit
directly to the premises telephone jacks.
