Drive principle
There are 4 types of rollers in the transport path of the cut–sheet feeder unit:
Carry–out roller – driven by the cut–sheet pick up motor, via the cut–sheet pick
up clutch.
Input feed roller – driven by the cut–sheet pick up motor, via the cut–sheet pick
up clutch.
Cut sheet feeder roller – driven by the cut–sheet pick up motor.
Register roller – driven by the cut–sheet pick up motor, via the paper register
clutch.
Cassette principle
Inside the paper supply cassette, there is a metal plate hopper which presses the paper
against the carry–out roller. When no cassette is set, this hopper is hooked on the
hopper stopper. When a cassette is set in place, the hopper stopper and the cassette
setter make contact; the lock is disengaged and springs up.
When removing the cassette, the hopper is also dragged along the grooves to the
lower position, hooked by the hopper stopper, and locked again.
