Control Principles

The following control detectors (sensors and switches) are built into the power
stacker.

Transfer Unit Paper Sensor (PMS)

This is a photo–interrupter comprised of a light emitter and receptor and a lever. It is
located partway in the paper guide at the entrance of the power stacker. When paper
output from the printer passes through the guide and kicks the lever, the light passing
between the light emitter and receptor is blocked, causing paper to be detected in that
location.
