Paper output sensor 0 (EPS0) / Nip switch (NPSW)
Attached to the scuff guide located at the exit to the paper output section are paper
output sensor 0 that detects the timing of the paper arriving and the transport speed of
the paper, and a nip switch to detect whether the scuff roller that sends paper from the
fuser to the paper output section is nipping.
In order to remove this sensor and switch, the paper output section paper retainer, the
face–down paper output tray paper guide, and the output paper guide must be
removed a head of time. (See "Cutter Unit" on page 10–74.)

1. Remove the connector for paper output sensor 0.

2. Remove the E–ring securing paper output sensor 0 to the scuff guide on the paper
output side, and remove the sensor with the bracket attached.
