Updating the font database. In each font directory there is a database type file
which contains a summary of all the fonts in that directory. When new fonts
are moved to the directory the database also has to be updated.
Motif Servers: The installation script uses the mkfontdir utility.
OpenWindows: The bldfamily utility is used. The bldfamily produces a lot
of information during the build which can look disconcerting.
Invalid font ...
As it suggests one of the fonts is invalid. Since the utilities scan all fonts in
the directory this may or may not be one of the TeemTalk fonts. Most often
this is caused by a truncation of a font file due to disk space being exhausted.
Unknown font foundry
The bldfamily does not recognise Pericom as a known vendor of fonts and
this error can safely be ignored
Freshening the server font database: Most X Servers cache the font databases
and therefore additions to the font databases are not immediately recognised
by the server. Either the server can be restarted or the server can be forced to
re-cache the font entries. The installation script uses the latter approach by
performing an xset fp rehash.
Cannot open Display...
Connection Refused by...
The X Window system has not been configured correctly maybe as a result of
being superuser. Try xset fp rehash from a normal user shell.
Warning: translation table syntax error: Unknown keysym name: osfActivate
Errors similar to this may occur when the Motif version of TeemTalk is run on
a Sun. The problem can be solved by copying the file XKeysymDB in the
installation directory to:
/XTech/lib/X11/XKeysymDB
