Stratasys J850/J835 User Guide
To prepare the build tray for printing on fabric:
1. Prepare—
2. Verify that the fabric is not wrinkled. If necessary, iron it.
3. If there is a double-sided adhesive tape on the tray, do one of the following:

❒ a piece of fabric with the following dimensions
For the elevated tray:
• Minimum size: 510 mm x 410 mm (20.1 in x 16.1 in)
• Maximum size: 2 m x 2 m (78.7 in x 78.7 in)
• Thickness: 0.2–3 mm
For the non-elevated tray:
• Size: 510 mm x 410 mm (20.1 in x 16.1 in)
• Thickness: 0.5–2 mm
Note: Verify that there is at least 1 cm of excess fabric on all sides of the
tray.
❒ a micrometer, ABS digital thickness gauge (supplied in the Accessories
kit)
❒ a fabric insertion tool (supplied in the Accessories kit)—for pushing
excess fabric into the gap between the build tray and the surrounding
area
❒ a sheet of double-sided adhesive tape (supplied in the Accessories
kit)—for ensuring fabric remains in place, when necessary
Note: You can use the double-sided adhesive tape up to 10 times.
❒ a rubber hand roller (supplied in the Accessories kit)—for ensuring the
proper placement of the double-sided adhesive tape on the carpet and
of the fabric
❒ If you need to print directly on the tray, remove the carpet and tape
using a scraper.
❒ Verify that the level of stickiness of the tape is adequate for holding the
fabric in place. If not, remove the carpet and tape using a scraper.
