5. Software

5.1. Installation on e-Series Universal Robots

Caution
To ensure normal operation, make sure the Copilot license dongle remains connected at all times.
1. Connect the license dongle to the USB hub in the UR controller. Make sure your Copilot license is activated:
a. Tap Installation tab > URCaps > Copilot.
b. The Copilot license activation will display under the Dashboard tab.
2. Set up the Copilot software based on your configuration and application
For e-Series Universal Robots
Tap Installation → URCaps → Copilot → Configuration
For CB-Series Universal Robots
Tap Installation → Copilot → Configuration
Then,
a. Select the Palletizer model used
i. In the Configuration tab, under Palletizing Solution, select Linear Axis
b. If required, deactivate the Use Copilot to manage a soft speed transition when resuming from a Safeguard stop
option. This is required when another URCap or a Polyscope option (for example, ProfiNET or Ethernet/IP) needs to
control the speed slider.
c. If required, select the Start linear axis at program start (Palletizer, Linear axis move) option. It will scan and start
the linear axis when the program starts.
d. If required, activate the Limit height for Palletizer program node (low ceiling) option and enter the maximum height
that can be reached by the moves automatically generated by the Palletizing solution. Make sure to keep a
clearance to prevent a collision with the ceiling.
