Valve guide - replace
• Remove the valve stem oil seal Q from the valve guide with
a screwdriver and remove the thrust washer W from the
cylinder head.
• Heat the cylinder head in an oven at 150° C for 20 minutes.
• Using a drift remover E (large diam. 10 mm /small diam. 3.8
mm) press the valve guide out of the cylinder head towards
the combustion chamber.

• Check that you have not damaged the valve guide seat when
you remove the guide. If there are any signs of scraping or
metal transfer, the cylinder head must be replaced.
Valve guide - refit
• Heat the cylinder head again an oven at 150° C for 20
minutes. Apply MOLYKOTE to the valve guide R.
• Using the inserter sleeve T (8 mm), press the valve guide
into the cylinder head, from the oil chamber side towards the
combustion chamber, until the inserter sleeve touches the
valve spring seat surface.

➪Check the protrusion R, camshaft side, of valve guide from
the cylinder head Y.
Valve guide protrusion
• Using an appropriate reamer U, carefully resize the valve
guide internal diameter R.
Valve guide: Int. diam.
Remember the following points:
• Use only a high-quality cutting oil to lubricate the reamer.
• Turn the reamer clockwise only, never in the opposite
direction!
• Clean the cuttings off the reamer at frequent intervals, still
turning it clockwise to withdraw it.

Guidavalvola — sostituzione
• Estrarre il paraolio stelo valvola Q a mezzo di un cacciavite
dal guidavalvola, togliere il rasamento W dalla testata.

• Riscaldare la testata in un forno a 150° C per 20 minuti.
• Con un punzone E (diam. grande 10 mm /diam. piccolo 3,8

mm) spingere il guidavalvola dalla testata verso la camera

di combustione.
Attrezzatura specifica
• Verificare se ci sono detriti di metallo nella sede del
guidavalvola. Se il guidavalvola ha asportato materiale di
alluminio all'estrazione, bisogna sostituire la testata.
Guidavalvola — montaggio
• Riscaldare la testata di nuovo in un forno a 150° C per 20
minuti. Applicare MOLYKOTE sul guidavalvola R.

• Con la bussola di inserimento T (8 mm) inserire il guidavalvola
nella testata, dal lato camera olio verso la camera di
combustione, finché la bussola di inserimento tocca il piano
della sede molla valvola.
Attrezzatura specifica
➪Controllare la sporgenza R, lato albero a camme, del
guidavalvola dalla testata Y.

Sporgenza del guidavalvola
• Con un alesatore U alesare il guidavalvola R.
Guidavalvola:
Far attenzione ai seguenti punti:
• Per lubrificare l'alesatore, utilizzare solo olio per filettatrice.

• Ruotare l'alesatore in senso orario solo, mai in senso
inverso!
• Pulire l'alesatore a brevi intervalli da trucioli, girando in
senso orario anche per estrarre l'alesatore.
