Mapping a Host Name to the IP Address

Verifying your Installation

If you are using host names, you can map a unique host name to the
acquired IP address. Refer to your system manuals or to your Network
Administrator for instructions on how to perform the name mapping
on your particular system.
Note:
If the host name has not been included in the system host table, you can
still perform the following instructions on how to download the IP
address. In this case, simply replace the host name entry with the IP
address wherever needed.
After successful installation, the AXIS 7000/FX will verify the attached
digital copier/scanner and display the name of the detected device. If
the digital copier/scanner is not supported, an error message will be
displayed.
If no destinations have been specified yet, the AXIS 7000/FX will
display:
Connect using
Web browser
If one or more destinations have already been specified, the AXIS
7000/FX will display:
Send to:
xxxxxx
where "
" is the first destination in the destination list.
xxxxxx
To verify the communication, you can access the AXIS 7000/FX using
a standard Web browser such as Netscape Navigator or Internet
Explorer:
1. Place a document in the digital copier/scanner.
2. Start your Web browser.
