To establish communication with the TCP/IP environment, you must assign an Internet address and make up a unique host name for your AXIS 700. The Internet address can be set from Windows (via a DOS window), OS/2, UNIX, or from the AXIS 700 user interface.

Section 4: Using the AXIS 700 Scanning to a Web browser is convenient for users that infrequently Scan-to-Web scan. Data is sent directly between the AXIS 700 and the user, i.e. browser peer-to-peer. This results in minimum network load, and normally no data will be sent over the backbone of the network.
Follow these steps to scan to your Web browser: 1. Start the Web browser. 2. Enter the host name or Internet address of the AXIS 700 on the Location/Address line and press Enter. We recommend that you add the address as a bookmark, or as a link on the department’s or workgroup’s Web page.
