HANDLE QUICK COUPLER

METHOD FOR REMOVING AND INSTALLING ATTACHMENT

• The European Norm requires that the LOCK position must be seen from the operator's position.
Handling it without caution may cause serious personal injury or death. Check conscientiously that
the quick coupler is locked completely and securely. Observe the instructions of the manufacturer,
including when installing the safety devices, if necessary.
• Check everyday that hoses and fittings in the quick coupler system are in good condition. Hoses
and fittings at the arm end are easy to be damaged. Pay particular attention to them. Stop the opera-
tion if the piping is damaged or oil leaks. The bucket or attachment may drop due to loss of oil. It
may cause serious personal injury or death. If the damage of piping or oil leakage is found, repair it
before starting the operation again.
• This machine has a system to issue an alert if the pressure in the quick coupler system cannot be
maintained. Identify the cause before continuing the operation if the buzzer inside the cab sounds.
In particular, check that there is no leakage in the system. Consult your Komatsu distributor if there
is anything unclear.
METHOD FOR REMOVING ATTACHMENT
Improper handling of the oil pressure in the system may cause serious personal injury or death. Per-
form the work by observing the procedures in "METHOD FOR REMOVING AND INSTALLING ATTACH-
MENT (6-16)".
1.
Disconnect the bucket or attachment from the machine before proceeding the work if it is connected to the
machine hydraulically.
2.
Lower the attachment safely to the place where the attachment is to be stored.
Be careful that the attachment does not roll over or fall over after being released.
3.
Operate the switch (1).
Position (A)
The quick coupler is disabled. (NB-LOCK bucket/attach-
ment)
Position (B)
The quick coupler is ready to be enabled. (NB-RELEASE
bucket/attachment)
REMARK
A safety lock mechanism is provided to the switch to pre-
vent any accidental operation. Slide the lock to your side,
and move the switch.
The lamp of the switch lights up, and the alarm buzzer sounds.
NOTICE
NB movement is enabled only when the button (2) is
pressed.
