OPERATION
METHOD FOR ADJUSTING DRAIN VALVE
1.
Remove the cover (5) on the bottom of the fuel tank.
(only when installed)
2.
Turn the valve (6) at the bottom of the fuel tank to CLOSE
position (S).
3.
Place a container under the fuel prefilter cartridge to catch
the fuel.
4.
Loosen the drain valve (4) and drain the water and sedi-
ments from the transparent cup (2), and also drain all the
fuel from the fuel prefilter cartridge (1).
5.
Check that nothing more comes out of the drain hose (3),
then remove the drain valve (4).
6.
Apply a suitable amount of grease to the O-ring (7).
REMARK
When applying the grease, be careful not to allow the
grease to adhere to the water drain port (8) and threaded
part (9) of the drain valve.
7.
Tighten the drain valve (4) by hand until it contacts the bot-
tom of the transparent cup (2).
8.
Remove the fuel container.
9.
Turn the valve (6) at the bottom of the fuel tank to OPEN
position (O).
10. Install the cover (5) at the bottom of the fuel tank.
(only when installed)
11. Bleed air from the fuel system.
REMARK
For bleeding air, see "PROCEDURES FOR BLEEDING AIR FROM FUEL CIRCUIT (3-262)".
