The 4349B 4-Channel High Resistance Meter and the 16117E Test Lead provided
by Agilent Technologies conform the safety requirements of IEC and CSA, when
the 4349B and the 16117E are operated following the description in this
Operation Manual .
Secure the safety of the measurement system, which you have set up. To secure
the safety and to prevent an electrical shock, observe the following safety
precautions when the external voltage source outputs a dangerous voltage, more
than ± 60Vdc and ± 2 mAdc, defined by the safety requirements of IEC and CSA
Agilent Technologies recommends you to attach the safety interlock function
n
to the measurement system so that the operator can not touch the parts
where dangerous voltage may appear. If not possible, warn the operators and
the workers around the measurement system not to touch the parts.
Use the parts with the safety function to prevent an electrical shock caused
n
by the insulation breakdown, even if dangerous voltage does not appear on
the parts directly.
Turn OFF the output of the external voltage source and discharge the
n
remanent charge of the DUT thoroughly, before touching the measurement
system or the DUT where the dangerous voltage may appear.
Use the power cord shipped with the 4349B and provide an uninterruptible
n
safety earth ground to the instrument.
Do not apply a dc voltage exceeding ± 50V or ± 50 mA to the INPUT
n
terminals.
