STEERING SERVICING
I nstall Throttle
Control

Necessary: Hammer, 1/8-lnch Allen
Wrench, 1/4 x
3/32-lnch
Flat End
Punch, Hammer,
Screwdriver
Having
a
3/16-lnch
Blade
and
Screwdriver
Having a 1/4-1 nch Blade
1.
Slide
the throttle handle on the handlebar,
making sure that
socket
for emergency kill
switch is toward the rear of the
snowmobile.
Move throttle handle into position desired,
then
secure in place with
sp
ring
pin, Fig.
VI
I-5,
using a
hammer.
Tighten set screw,
using a 1/S-inch allen wrench.

switch

Pull
end of
throttle
cable
until
slack
is removed; then pull
cable
an additional 1/16-inch to preload
the

switch
spring.

ighten
retaining screw, using a
screwdriver
having a
1/4-inch blade.

Note:
The
desired adjustment is wh en
the
handle-mounted throttle lever lightly
contacts
the throttle handle and the
carburetor throttle
plate is fully
open.
7.
Install
protective
pad on the handlebar.
