The exterior lighting at the rear is concealed
when you open the rear dropside.
As a result, other road users cannot detect
the vehicle as an obstacle until late.
Protect the vehicle at the rear in accord‐

ance with national regulations, e.g. with
a warning triangle.

Depending on the vehicle's equipment, func‐
tions/buttons may not be present.
For the exterior lighting control, press the Ä
quick entry button below the multimedia display
to access the lighting menu.
Then, select the
Exterior lighting
display the menu presented above.

An acoustic warning sounds in the following
cases:
You open the driver's door with the low beam

switched on and the ignition lock in the radio
position.
You open the driver's door with the standing
R
lights or low beam switched on and the igni‐
tion lock in the g position.
