Control with one linear transducer
Proportional. The speed and strength of the pull on the linear transducer determine the opening

By very slow release of the linear transducer, the hand stops in an opened position.
Stopping:
Example 1: After opening the amputee slowly releases the pull on the linear transducer. The object is
grasped with low force.
Example 2: After opening the amputee releases the pull on the linear transducer at maximum speed. The
hand closes at maximum speed and grasps an object with of grip force of approx. 100 N.

Control with two electrodes
With this control mode, the opening speed is determined by the strength and speed of the muscle contrac-
tion. The closing speed depends on the speed of the muscle relaxation. The following or simultaneous
muscle signal to the second electrode determines the grip force.
