higher than the preset grip force. FlexiGrip becomes active when approx. twice the value of
the preset grip force is applied when moving an object within the hand (max. 130 N). Once
the object has been repositioned, the SensorHand Speed reverts to the original grip force.
Control Mode 5: VarioDual: Two electrodes
Opening
By speed and strength of the muscle tension to
the 1st electrode
Opening speed
Proportional
15 mm/s - 300 mm/s
Initial grip force
10 N
Proportional:
10 N - 100 N
Control Mode 6: DMC plus Auto-Grasp, can be turned off
Requires: 2 electrodes
Control with two electrodes
This control mode corresponds to control mode 1; the SUVA-Sensor Technology and FlexiGrip function can
be deactivated, however.
Turning the SUVA-Sensor and FlexiGrip function on and off
To grasp very soft and flexible objects such as very flexible foam materials or tweezers, the SUVA-Sensor
can be deactivated. Open the SensorHand Speed as far as possible and keep open with a muscle signal
of any strength. At the same time, apply slight pressure on the SUVA-Sensor (Fig. 1), e.g. pressure against
a table edge. A short vibration signal will confirm that the SUVA-Sensor has been switched off.
To turn on the SUVA-Sensor, repeat the procedure. Two short vibration signals will confirm reactivation of
the SUVA-Sensor.
Notice: Please note, that with the SUVA-Sensor turned off, the grip force will not increase automatically
if an object slips off your hand.
After inserting the battery, vibration signals will inform you on the current state.
One vibration signal: Sensor is switched off
Two vibration signals: Sensor is switched on

Closing
By speed and amount of the muscle relaxation to
the 1st electrode
Closing speed
Proportional
15 mm/s - 300 mm/s
Build-up of grip force:
The grip force depends on the level of the muscle
signal to the 2nd electrode.
Grip force: Poportional 10 N - 100 N
Auto-Grasp grip force increase
While closing:
No grip force increase
While building up grip force:
Proportional, up to 50% higher
than the initial grip force
FlexiGrip function
At 20 N
Occurs when repositioning force
is higher than the present grip
force
Effective from 20 - 130 N
