Ring Generator Power Supplies (RPS) Test
Not all Peripheral Shelves are equipped with an RPS.
The following tests must be performed for each RPS unit in the system, see
Figure 3-4.
1. Turn OFF the power switch on the front panel of the RPS.
1. Verify that the output voltage selection tap is set to 75VAC (as required by UL
RPS Card Layout, page
rules), see
2. Insert the RPS power supply completely into its card slot.
3. Turn ON the RPS power switch. Verify that the green Power indicator on the
front panel illuminates.
4. Measure the AC voltage between the TP1 and TP2 test points. Verify that the
DMM shows a voltage of approximately 75-105 volts AC.
5. Turn OFF the power switch on the front panel of the RPS.
