11 Configuration Options

This subsection describes the various factory set configuration options for the Coral
FlexiCom 6000 system up to a maximum of 16 peripheral shelves. Each Peripheral
Shelf Unit (even and odd shelf) receives 512 time slots, see
is configured with the least possible blocking.
Possible Cabinet Configurations
The different combinations of cabinet configurations are summarized in
Tables 6-6 and 6-7. These tables define the cabinet structure, maximum ports and
Time Slot definition for each type of Coral cabinet code.
Each Coral FlexiCom 6000 system must include at least one main control
cabinet with either 3 or 4 shelves, where the bottom shelf is always the
control shelf. The system may also include a maximum of 4 Expansion
cabinets.
Cabinet Code Configurations
The Cabinet Code configuration is printed on the label inside of the Coral cabinet and
can be decoded as follows:

The cabinets are described with the amount of shelves and the number and location of
the relevant PB-ATS cards, as well as the maximum number of ports it supports and
the number of time slots the system supports. The total number of PB-ATSs installed
ultimately define the number of time slots for the entire system.
