Configuration

4.2.1 CS31 CPU as bus master

The assignment of the CPI extension string saved in the CPV
Direct is relevant for the number of assigned I/O addresses
and station numbers. Make sure that recognition of the mod
ules in the CPI extension string has been carried out correctly
(SAVE button, see sections 1.2.4 and 1.6).
The CPV Direct offers the following on the ABB CS31:
max. 48 outputs (valves or digital outputs) and
max. 32 inputs
The following applies for the assignment of bus addresses:
Module inputs/outputs
Modules with less than 8 bits
or with 8 bits
2 x 8 bit modules
4 x 8 bit modules

Also when there is a 16−bit module between two 8−bit modules,
the two 8−bit modules only occupy one bus address.
