In this example, port 10 on each G8264 is used for the switch‐to‐switch link. To
ensure that the G8264 switch‐to‐switch link is blocked during normal operation,
the port path cost is set to a higher value than other paths in the network. To
configure the port path cost on the switch‐to‐switch links in this example, use the
following commands on each G8264.
RS G8264(config)# interface port 10
RS G8264(config­if)# spanning­tree stp 1 path­cost 60000
RS G8264(config­if)# exit
