Front seat lap belt pretensioner: Removal - Refitting

REFITTING
I - REFITTING PREPARATION OPERATION
a
IMPORTANT
After a seat belt pyrotechnic component is trig-
gered, it is essential to replace certain parts (see
88C, Air bag and Pretensioners, Airbag and
pretensioners: Precautions for the repair,
page 88C-7) .
a parts always to be replaced: front lap belt pre-
tensioner bolt (31,02,01,54).
II - REFITTING OPERATION FOR PART
CONCERNED
a Connect the connector of the front seat lap belt pre-
tensioner.
a Lock the connector of the front seat lap belt preten-
sioner.
a Refit:
- the front seat lap belt pretensioner, positioning the
anchoring points (5) in the front seat runner,
- a new bolt of the front seat lap belt pretensioner.
a Torque tighten the bolt of the front seat lap belt
pretensioner (21 N.m).
III - FINAL OPERATION
a Refit:
- the front seat (see Complete front seat: Removal
- Refitting) (75A, Front seat frames and runners).
Note:
Check that the seat belt is not twisted between
the front side seat belt return mechanism and the
lap belt pretensioner.
Note:
To check that the front side seat belt is correctly
clipped onto the lap belt pretensioner, pull on the
front side seat belt strap and check that the front
side seat belt strap remains clipped onto the lap
belt pretensioner.
a Connect the battery (see 80A, Battery, Battery: Re-
moval - Refitting, page 80A-4) .
IMPORTANT
To eliminate the risk of any accident, do not
reuse pyrotechnic components.
It is essential to destroy pretensioners or airbags
before scrapping a vehicle or a part only (see
88C, Air bag and Pretensioners, Airbags and
pretensioners: Recycling - Destruction, page
88C-10) .
