IMPORTANT
Consult the safety and cleanliness advice and oper-
ation recommendations before carrying out any
repair (see 88C, Air bag and Pretensioners, Air-
bag and pretensioners: Precautions for the
repair, page 88C-7) .
REMOVAL
I - REMOVAL PREPARATION OPERATION
a Lock the airbag computer by applying the "Before re-
pair procedure" using the Diagnostic tool :
- connect the Diagnostic tool,
- select the "Airbag computer",
- go to repair mode,
- display the "Before/after repair procedure" for the
computer selected,
- carry out the operations described in the "Before
repair procedure" section.
a Disconnect the battery (see 80A, Battery, Battery:
Removal - Refitting, page 80A-4) .
a Remove:
- the centre console (see Centre console: Removal
- Refitting) (MR 416, 57A, Interior equipment),
- the intermediate air distribution duct (see C-pillar
intermediate air distribution duct: Removal -
Refitting) (MR 415, 61A, Heating system).
8 Nm
a Cut the carpet at (1) .
a Remove the soundproofing pad (2) .
a Unclip the wiring at (3) using a flat-blade screwdriv-
er.
a Move aside the wiring.
