Anti-submarining airbag: Removal - Refitting

a Remove the anti-submarining airbag according to
(5) to release the studs (6) .
REFITTING
I - REFITTING PREPARATION OPERATION
a
IMPORTANT
After a seat belt pyrotechnic component is trig-
gered, it is essential to replace certain parts (see
88C, Air bag and Pretensioners, Airbag and
pretensioners: Precautions for the repair,
page 88C-7) .
a Always replace the anti-submarining airbag bolt.
II - REFITTING OPERATION FOR PART

Note:
Handle the airbag by its rear centre section (7) or
by the bracket (8) .
a Refit the anti-submarining airbag with a new bolt on
the front seat base ensuring that the studs fit correct-
ly on the frame.
a Torque tighten the anti-submarining airbag bolt (6
N.m).
a Connect the anti-submarining airbag connector.
a Lock the anti-submarining airbag connector.
III - FINAL OPERATION
a Refit:
- the front seat base trim (see Front seat base trim:
Removal - Refitting) (77A, Front seat trim),
- the complete front seat (see Complete front seat:
Removal - Refitting) (75A, Front seat frames and
runners).
a Connect the battery (see 80A, Battery, Battery: Re-
moval - Refitting, page 80A-4) .
IMPORTANT
To eliminate the risk of any accident, do not
reuse pyrotechnic components.
It is essential to destroy pretensioners or airbags
before scrapping a vehicle or a part only (see
88C, Air bag and Pretensioners, Airbags and
pretensioners: Recycling - Destruction, page
88C-10) .
