4. Install the SoftMax Pro Software on the computer. See the SoftMax Pro Software
installation guide or user guide.
5. Connect one end of the supplied USB cable to one of the USB ports on the computer,
and then connect the other end of the USB cable to the USB port on the rear of the
instrument.
6. Connect the supplied power cord to the power port on the rear of the instrument, and
then connect the other end of the power cord to a grounded electrical wall outlet.
It might be necessary to remove the temporary warning label before connecting the
power cord to the instrument.
7. If desired, connect a gas supply to the instrument. See
Gas Supply on page
8. Set the power switch on the rear of the instrument to the On position and wait for the
instrument to complete its initialization routine. See

It might be necessary to install USB drivers before starting the software.
9. Start the SoftMax Pro Software.
