Data logging procedure

This section describes the data logging procedure.
1.
Install CPU Module Logging Configuration Tool. ( CPU Module Logging Configuration Tool/GX LogViewer Installation

Launch CPU Module Logging Configuration Tool. ( Page 960 Launching CPU Module Logging Configuration Tool)
3.
When specifying a label as the target data, import the project of the engineering tool to CPU Module Logging
Configuration Tool. ( Page 965 Reading a GX Works3 project)
4.
Configure the data logging setting. ( Page 966 Setting data logging)
5.
If auto logging is used, configure the common settings (auto logging common settings). ( Page 983 Auto logging
common setting)
6.
When the storage destination of the data logging files is the SD memory card, insert an SD memory card into the CPU
module, and power up the module.
7.
Connect the CPU module to a personal computer. ( Page 945 System configuration,  Page 984 Transfer setup).
8.
Write the data logging setting to the SD memory card or data memory. ( Page 986 Writing the logging setting)
9.
Switch the CPU module to RUN state to start the data logging. ( Page 988 Logging status and operation)
10.
Stop the data logging and read the data logging file. ( Page 990 Logging file operation)
11.
Check the file into which data has been read.

Launching CPU Module Logging Configuration Tool
The following describes three methods to launch CPU Module Logging Configuration Tool.
■Launch from the start menu
After CPU Module Logging Configuration Tool is installed, it can be launched by the following operation.
[Start]  [All Programs]  [MELSOFT]  [Logging Function]  [CPU Module Logging Configuration Tool]
■Launch from GX Works3
After GX Works3 is launched, CPU Module Logging Configuration Tool can be launched by the following operation.
[Tool]  [Logging Configuration Tool]
It is launched with the information (connection target device, connection target specification/connection target setting, and
display language) of the GX Works3 project.
■Launch from GX LogViewer
Refer to the following manual.
 GX LogViewer Version 1 Operating Manual
If an error message appears when CPU Module Logging Configuration Tool is started, start it as administrator.
