Configuring static ports

If all the hosts attached to a port is interested in the IPv6 multicast data addressed to a particular IPv6
multicast group, you can configure that port as a static member port for that IPv6 multicast group.
You can configure a port as a static router port, through which the router can forward all IPv6 multicast
data it received.
Configuration guidelines
A static member port does not respond to queries from the MLD querier. When you configure a port as
a static member port or cancel this configuration on the port, the port does not send an unsolicited MLD
report or an MLD done message.
Static member ports and static router ports never age out. To remove such a port, use the corresponding
undo command.
