CAUTION
PATIENT CROSS-CONTAMINATION
If you reuse the spirette, DLCO barriette, or FRC barriette, contamination from
an infected patient can be deposited on the spirette, on the DLCO barriette, or
on the FRC barriette. The contamination from an infected patient can later be
passed on to the next patient who is tested.
You cannot clean or disinfect the spirette, the DLCO barriette, or the FRC
barriette in any way. The spirette, the DLCO barriette, and the FRC barriette are
for single-patient use only.
Always replace the spirette, the DLCO barriette, and the FRC barriette with a
new one between patients or when performing lung function test on yourself.
Only use an original spirette, DLCO barriette, and FRC barriette by the manu-
facturer.
The spirette and FRC barriette are single-patient-use disposables and
hygienically packed. Visually check the wrapper of a new spirette and
FRC barriette for defects.
If the wrapper of the spirette or FRC barriette has a defect, dispose of the
spirette or FRC barriette, take another spirette or FRC barriette, and visually
check the wrapper of the new spirette or FRC barriette for defects again.
