Cardiac calculations
W ARNINGS
When performing cardiac calculations, the system uses the heart rate (HR) value present in the patient
information form. The HR value can be obtained in four different ways:
Manual entry in the patient information form
Doppler measurement (for more information, see
M-Mode measurement (for more information, see
ECG measurement
The ECG heart rate measurement is only used if the other methods are not available. If the ECG
measurement is used, and the HR value in the patient information form is empty, the new HR value is
automatically inserted in the patient information form.
Measurements and Calculations
To avoid incorrect calculations, verify that the patient information, date, and time
settings are accurate.
To avoid misdiagnosis or harming the patient outcome, start a new patient
information form before starting a new patient exam and performing calculations.
Starting a new patient information form clears the previous patient's data. The
previous patient's data will be combined with the current patient if the form is not
first cleared. Refer to
page 4-25.
