Adjusting depth and gain

To adjust depth
You can adjust the depth in all imaging modes except M Mode. The vertical depth scale is marked in 0.5 cm,
1 cm, and 5 cm increments, depending on the depth.
Press the following keys:
DEPTH UP key to decrease the displayed depth.
DEPTH DOWN key to increase the displayed depth.
As you adjust the depth, the maximum depth number changes in the lower right screen.
To adjust gain automatically
Press the AUTO key. The gain adjusts each time you press this key.
To adjust gain manually
Turn the gain knobs to the left to decrease gain. Turn the knobs to the right to increase gain:
NEAR adjusts the gain applied to the near field of the 2D image.
FAR adjusts the gain applied to the far field of the 2D image.
GAIN adjusts the overall gain applied to the entire image. In CPD or Color imaging, the GAIN knob
affects the color gain applied to the region of interest (ROI) box. In PW and CW Doppler imaging, the
GAIN knob affects Doppler gain.
NEAR and FAR correspond to the time gain compensation (TGC) controls on other ultrasound systems.
