2) Warm up engine to normal operating temperature.
3) Check engine idle speed and IAC duty as follows:
a) When using SUZUKI scan tool:
i)
Select "Data List" mode on scan tool to check IAC duty.
b) When without using SUZUKI scan tool:
NOTE
IAC duty can be checked not only using SUZUKI scan tool but also using diagnosis connector.
i)
Set tachometer.
ii) Using service wire (2), ground "Diag. switch terminal" (4) in diagnosis connector (3) and connect duty
meter (1) between "Duty output terminal" (5) and "Ground terminal" (6) of diagnosis connector.
4) If duty and/or idle speed is out of specifications, inspect idle air control system referring to "Idle Air Control System
Check".
5) Remove service wire from diagnosis connector.
6) Check that specified engine idle speed is obtained with A/C ON if vehicle is equipped with A/C.
If not, check A/C control circuits and idle air control system referring to "A/C Control System Check (Vehicle with A/
C)" and "Idle Air Control System Check".

Engine idle speed and IAC duty

All electric parts turned OFF and
radiator cooling fan not operated.
Following items all turned ON.
A/C switch, blower motor at max
position, rear defogger, head light,
radiator fan operated at high speed.
NOTE
Above duty values are ON duty (low voltage rate) meter indications.
Engine General Information and Diagnosis:
A/T
Transmission selector lever in
"N" or "P" range position
700 ± 50 r/min. (rpm)
IAC duty: 5 – 25%
Transmission selector lever in
"P" or "D" range position
850 ± 50 r/min. (rpm)
