1D-20 Engine Mechanical:
Installation
1) Install clutch cover and clutch disk referring to
"Clutch Cover, Clutch Disc and Flywheel Removal
and Installation in Section 5C in related manual".
2) Connect transaxle to engine referring to "Manual
Transaxle Unit Dismounting and Remounting in
Section 5B in related manual"or "Automatic
Transaxle Unit Dismounting and Remounting in
Section 5A".
3) Lift engine with transaxle into engine compartment,
but do not remove lifting device.
4) Install engine left mounting bolts (1) and engine right
mounting bracket nuts (2).
Tighten these bolts and nuts to specified torque.
Tightening torque
Engine left mounting bolt (a): 55 N·m (5.5 kgf-m,
40.0 lb-ft)
Engine right mounting bracket nut (b): 75 N·m (
7.5 kgf-m, 54.5 lb-ft)

5) Remove lifting device.
6) For M/T vehicle, install clutch operating cylinder to
transaxle referring to "Clutch Operating Cylinder
Removal and Installation in Section 5C in related
manual".
7) Install generator referring to "Generator Dismounting
and Remounting in Section 1J in related manual".
8) Connect drive shaft joints referring to "Front Drive
Shaft Assembly Removal and Installation in Section
3A".
9) Install exhaust No.1 and No.2 pipes referring to
"Exhaust Pipe Removal and Installation in Section
1K in related manual".

10) Install suspension frame (1) with stabilizer bar and
suspension control arms referring to "Front
Suspension Frame Removal and Installation in
Section 2B in related manual".
11) Reverse disconnected hoses, cables and electric
wires for connection.
12) Install air cleaner case and hoses referring to "Air
Cleaner Element Removal and Installation".
13) Install A/C compressor (if equipped) referring to
"Compressor Removal and Installation: Manual Type
in Section 7B in related manual".
14) Install P/S pump (1) to its bracket (2) (if equipped).
Tightening torque
P/S pump bracket bolt (a): 25 N·m (2.5 kgf-m,
18.0 lb-ft)
15) Adjust water pump belt tension referring to "Water
Pump / Generator Drive Belt Tension Inspection and
Adjustment in Section 1F in related manual".
16) Adjust A/C compressor and/or P/S belt tension (if
equipped) referring to "Drive Belt Inspection in
Section 0B in related manual".
17) Adjust accelerator cable play referring to
"Accelerator Cable Adjustment".
