(8) Horizontal skew adjustment
If there is no skew in the mirror base scanning direction and the right
angle to the scanning direction is not proper, adjust the height of the
No. 2/3 mirror base unit rail and the No. 4/5 mirror base unit eccentric
screw.
This adjustment must be performed in the following cases:
•
When the mirror base drive wire is replaced.
•
When the No. 1 mirror base and the No. 2 mirror base are
replaced.
•
When the No. 2 mirror base rail is replaced or shifted.
•
When a copy as shown below is made.

Making of the original for adjustment
Make the original for adjustment on A3 or 11" × 17" white paper
as shown below.

Place the original on the original table neatly to the position of A3
or 11" × 17".
Make a normal (100%) copy on A3 or 11" × 17" paper.

Measure the distances at four corners as shown below.
(La, Lb, Lc, Ld)

When La = Lb and Lc = Ld, there is no need for adjustment.
Adjustment procedure 1

When La > Lb (Lc > Ld), turn the adjustment screw clockwise to
increase the height of the front frame side of the No. 4/5 mirror
base unit.
