(1) Replace every 2 years irrespective of condition.
(2) Check the tightness of the following safety parts:
- Front sprocket retaining screw
- Top yoke bolts
- Bottom yoke bolts
- Front axle clamp bolt
- Steering stem nut
- Front brake caliper screw
- Gearchange lever pivot bolt
- Rear brake caliper screw
- Rear wheel axle nut
- Swingarm pivot shaft bolt
- Aluminium swingarm pivot shaft bolt
- Chain tensioner eccentric screw
- Rear caliper bracket lock pin
- Handlebar top clamp bolt
- Shock absorber top bolt
- Shock absorber bottom bolt
- Suspension linkage upper bolt
- Bolt securing suspension rocker arm to frame
- Nuts securing ball joint end fittings to tie-rod
- Bolts securing front footrest brackets to swingarm pivot shaft
- Rear wheel nut
- Front wheel nut
- Front and rear brake disc retaining screw
- Rear sprocket nut
- Engine-to-frame bolt nut
- Oil pipe union on cooler with TWIN SEAL O-ring
- Oil pipe union on crankcase with Twin Seal O-ring
if you find components that are not correctly tightened, refer to the tightening torque table (Section C 3).
(3) General testing of the motorcycle involves checking the following parts:
- Wheel hub bearings
- Rear wheel flexible coupling
- Front sprocket retaining plate
- Sidestand
- Indicators and lighting
