Step 1: Preparation

IMPORTANT

Take note of the following before you begin:
Seating the
The wireless card that enables the CN3000 to communicate with wireless client stations
is mounted on the rear of the unit. Vibrations during shipping can loosen this card.

Therefore, make sure that this card is properly seated in its socket by pressing down
firmly as illustrated below.
Installing rubber
The CN3000 can be used upright or lying down. To prevent slipping, attach the four
rubber feet as shown below.

• Do not mount the
CN3000 on a wall or
ceiling until after you
have configured it as
instructed in this guide.
Press down firmly to ensure that the
card is properly seated in the socket.
• Do not connect the
CN3000 to a wired LAN
until you read
"Connecting to a wired
LAN" on page 38
.
Conflicts may occur
causing your installation
to be unsuccessful.
• If you are deploying
multiple CN3000s,
install them one at a
time. Do not try to
configure multiple
units at the same time.
