Installing the PCI Digital UNIX Driver
The driver kit for your DOME Md4/PCI board ships on the
installation diskette. To install this kit onto your Digital
Alpha™ UNIX™ system, you must have root (superuser)
access privileges.
The commands you type are marked in the sample code
with a leading pound sign (#), which is the standard
superuser shell prompt.
To install the driver
1. Insert the kit diskette into the disk drive.
When you mount a file system, you must have an
empty directory to mount it on. Many systems have a
/mnt
temporary file systems.
2. If you do not have a
one with these commands:
# cd /
# mkdir mnt
# chmod 755 /mnt
To mount the diskette, you need to know the device
name of your diskette drive. On most systems, this is
/dev/fd0c
