Resolution
If the cartridge is manage by a host application, export the
cartridge via the host application.
If the cartridge is managed by the library, perform the
following:
v Remove the suspect cartridge (see "Exporting a Data
Cartridge" on page 7-15 or "Exporting a Cleaning
Cartridge" on page 7-16).
v Import a new cartridge (see "Importing Data Cartridges"
on page 7-15 or "Importing a Cleaning Cartridge" on
page 7-16).
System determines that the drive has issued a TapeAlert 8
indicating that the tape cartridge in the drive is not a data
grade tape.
Tape drive issues a TapeAlert 8 which is recognized by the
library during the continuous four second polling cycle of
drive status.
Drive has determined that there is a problem per its
internal algorithms.
Tape Cartridge
If the cartridge is manage by a host application, export the
cartridge via the host application.
If the cartridge is managed by the library, perform the
following:
v Remove the suspect cartridge (see "Exporting a Data
Cartridge" on page 7-15 or "Exporting a Cleaning
Cartridge" on page 7-16).
v Import a new cartridge (see "Importing Data Cartridges"
on page 7-15 or "Importing a Cleaning Cartridge" on
page 7-16).
System determines that a write was attempted on a write
protected tape.
Tape drive issues a TapeAlert 9
Write protect feature on tape is protecting the tape but the
user is trying to write to it.
Tape Cartridge
Perform "DR014: Write Protect or WORM Diagnostic" on
page 10-34.
To remove the write protection feature from the cartridge,
refer to "Write-Protect Switch" on page 8-7.
