4-8-1 Generating the Output Result String
Standard Output String
By default, the system generates an output string containing data from all of the decoded symbols.
The number of symbols, and whether or not to allow duplicates into the string, is controlled from the
Cycle dialog.
The default output order is not controlled. Symbol data is output in the order that the decode algorithm
finds each code in the image.
Basic Output String Formatting
The output dialog in the left panel of the user interface allows the user to make formatting changes to
the output string. The user may do the following operations:
Add Standard or Custom Preamble – Adds standard, or user defined text to the beginning of the
output string when the checkbox is selected.
Select Custom Separator – Appends user defined text between the individual symbol data.
Add Standard or Custom Postamble – Appends standard, or user defined text to the end of the
output string if the checkbox is selected.
All three of the above features work in the same way. The user turns on the checkbox, and then select
the field. They many type in standard text, and or insert ASCII characters using the special dialog.
