V440-F DHCP Network Connection
1
If your PC is set to DHCP, you should set the reader to DCHP as well.
2
Plug your reader into your network adapter.
3
Run the Omron Device Discovery Utility (DDU).
4
Click Search to find the reader. When the reader appears, click on it to set parameters.
5
Turn DHCP On. Click Update Settings and Exit. The reader will reset and come up in DHCP
mode. The reader will then reboot and the DDU will search for the reader again.
6
When the reader is found, note the new IP address that is generated.
7
Open a browser and type the new IP address. WebLink will load.
Important: The reader does not work in APIPA mode. A DHCP server must be running on
the network to hand out IP addresses for this to function correctly. If a DHCP server is not
running on the network, the reader will continue to search for an IP address every 30 seconds.
