Use t his screen t o configure t he Swit ch's DHCP set t ings when it is act ing as a DHCPv6 client . Click
t he link next t o D H CPv6 Clie nt Se t up in t he I Pv6 Con figu r a t ion screen t o display t he screen as
shown next .
Chapter 8 Basic Setting
DESCRIPTION
Select t he t ype of I Pv6 int erface for which you want t o configure. The Swit ch support s t he
VLAN int erface t ype for I Pv6 at t he t im e of writ ing.
Specify a unique ident ificat ion num ber ( from 1 t o 4094) for t he int erface.
A st at ic I Pv6 neighbor ent ry displays in t he M a n a ge m e n t > N e ighbor Ta ble screen only
when t he int erface I D is also creat ed in t he Ba sic Se t u p > I n t e r fa ce Se t u p screen.
To have I Pv6 funct ion properly, you should configure a st at ic VLAN wit h t he sam e I D num ber
in t he Adva n ce d Applica t ion > V LAN screens.
Specify t he I Pv6 address of t he neighboring device which can be reached t hrough t he
int erface.
Specify t he MAC address of t he neighboring device which can be reached t hrough t he
int erface.
Click t his t o creat e a new ent ry or t o updat e an exist ing one.
This saves your changes t o t he Swit ch's run- t im e m em ory. The Swit ch loses t hese changes if
it is t urned off or loses power, so use t he Sa ve link on t he t op navigat ion panel t o save your
changes t o t he nonvolat ile m em ory when you are done configuring.
Click Ca n ce l t o begin configuring t his screen afresh.
Click Cle a r t o reset t he fields t o t he fact ory default s.
This is t he int erface index num ber. Click on an index num ber t o change t he set t ings.
This is t he nam e of t he I Pv6 int erface you creat ed.
This field displays t he I Pv6 address of t he neighboring device which can be reached t hrough
t he int erface
This field displays t he MAC address of t he neighboring device which can be reached t hrough
t he int erface.
Select an ent ry's check box t o select a specific ent ry. Ot herwise, select t he check box in t he
t able heading row t o select all ent ries.
Check t he ent ry( ies) t hat you want t o rem ove and t hen click D e le t e t o rem ove t he select ed
ent ry( ies) from t he sum m ary t able.
Click Ca n ce l t o clear t he check boxes.
