port s in a VLAN.

31.1 Private VLAN Overview

Privat e VLAN allows you t o do port isolat ion wit hin a VLAN in a sim ple way. You specify which
port ( s) in a VLAN is not isolat ed by adding it t o t he prom iscuous port list . The Swit ch aut om at ically
adds ot her port s in t his VLAN t o t he isolat ed port list and blocks t raffic bet ween t he isolat ed port s.
A prom iscuous port can com m unicat e wit h any port in t he sam e VLAN. An isolat ed port can
com m unicat e wit h t he prom iscuous port ( s) only.
Not e: You can have up t o one privat e VLAN rule for each VLAN.

Not e: Make sur e you keep at least one port in t he pr om iscuous port list for a VLAN wit h
privat e VLAN enabled. Ot herwise, t his VLAN is blocked fr om t he whole net work.
