DESCRIPTION
Bandwidt h
Specify t he bandwidt h in kilobit per second ( Kbps) . Ent er a num ber bet ween 64 and
1000000.
Act ion
Specify t he act ion( s) t he Swit ch t akes on t he associat ed classified t raffic flow.
Note: You can specify only one action (pair) in a policy rule. To have the Switch take multiple actions on the
same traffic flow, you need to define multiple classifiers with the same criteria and apply different policy
rules.
Say you have several classifiers t hat ident ify t he sam e t raffic flow and you specify a different policy rule for
each. I f t heir policy act ions conflict ( D isca r d t h e pa ck e t , Se n d t h e pa ck e t t o t h e e gr e ss por t and Ra t e
Lim it ) , t he Swit ch only applies t he policy rules wit h t he D isca r d t h e pa ck e t and Se n d t h e pa ck e t t o t he
e gr e ss por t act ions depending on t he classifier nam es. The longer t he classifier nam e, t he higher t he
classifier priorit y. I f t wo classifier nam es are t he sam e lengt h, t he bigger t he charact er, t he higher t he
classifier priorit y. The lowercase let t ers ( such as a and b) have higher priorit y t han t he capit als ( such as A and
B) in t he classifier nam e. For exam ple, t he classifier wit h t he nam e of class 2, class a or class B t akes priorit y
over t he classifier wit h t he nam e of class 1 or class A.
Let 's say you set t wo classifiers ( Class 1 and Class 2) and bot h ident ify all t raffic from MAC address
11: 22: 33: 44: 55: 66 on port 3.
I f Policy 1 applies t o Class 1 and t he act ion is t o drop t he packet s, Policy 2 applies t o Class 2 and t he act ion is
t o forward t he packet s t o t he egress port , t he Swit ch will forward t he packet s.
I f Policy 1 applies t o Class 1 and t he act ion is t o drop t he packet s, Policy 2 applies t o Class 2 and t he act ion is
t o enable bandwidt h lim it at ion, t he Swit ch will discard t he packet s im m ediat ely.
I f Policy 1 applies t o Class 1 and t he act ion is t o forward t he packet s t o t he egress port , Policy 2 applies t o
