42.4 Restore a Configuration File

Use t his screen t o rest ore a previously saved configurat ion from your com put er t o t he Swit ch.

Type t he pat h and file nam e of t he configurat ion file you wish t o rest ore in t he File Pa t h t ext box or
click Br ow se t o locat e it . Aft er you have specified t he file, click Re st or e . " config" is t he nam e of
t he configurat ion file on t he Swit ch, so your backup configurat ion file is aut om at ically renam ed
when you rest ore using t his screen.

42.5 Backup a Configuration File

Use t his screen t o save and st ore your current device set t ings.
Backing up your Swit ch configurat ions allows you t o creat e various " snap shot s" of your device from
which you m ay rest ore at a lat er dat e.
Back up your current Swit ch configurat ion t o a com put er using t he Ba ck u p Configu r a t ion screen.

DESCRIPTION
Click Apply t o save your changes t o t he Swit ch's run- t im e m em ory. The Swit ch loses
t hese changes if it is t urned off or loses power, so use t he Sa ve link on t he t op
navigat ion panel t o save your changes t o t he non- volat ile m em ory when you are done
configuring.
Click Ca n ce l t o begin configuring t his screen afresh.
Choose t o upload t he new firm ware t o ( Firm ware) 1 or ( Firm ware) 2 .
Type t he pat h and file nam e of t he firm ware file you wish t o upload t o t he Swit ch in t he
File Pa t h t ext box or click Br ow se t o locat e it .
Click Upgr a de t o load t he new firm ware. Firm ware upgrades are only applied aft er a
reboot . To reboot , go t o M a n a ge m e n t > M a in t e n a n ce > Re boot Syst e m and click
Config 1 , Con fig 2 or Fa ct or y D e fa u lt ( Config 1 , Config 2 and Fa ct or y D e fa u lt
are t he configurat ion files you want t he Swit ch t o use when it rest art s) .
