Chapter 23 Queuing Method
an equal am ount of bandwidt h, and t hen m oves t o t he end of t he list ; and so on, depending on t he
num ber of queues being used. This works in a looping fashion unt il a queue is em pt y.
Weight ed Round Robin Scheduling ( WRR) uses t he sam e algorit hm as round robin scheduling, but
services queues based on t heir priorit y and queue weight ( t he num ber you configure in t he queue
W e igh t field) rat her t han a fixed am ount of bandwidt h. WRR is act ivat ed only when a port has
m ore t raffic t han it can handle. Queues wit h larger weight s get m ore service t han queues wit h
sm aller weight s. This queuing m echanism is highly efficient in t hat it divides any available
bandwidt h across t he different t raffic queues and ret urns t o queues t hat have not yet em pt ied.
23.2 Configuring Queuing
Use t his screen t o set priorit ies for t he queues of t he Swit ch. This dist ribut es bandwidt h across t he
different t raffic queues.
