26.10.1 ARP Inspection Port Configure

Use t his screen t o specify whet her port s are t rust ed or unt rust ed port s for ARP inspect ion. You can
also specify t he m axim um rat e at which t he Swit ch receives ARP packet s on each unt rust ed port . To

DESCRIPTION
Ent er t he m axim um num ber of syslog m essages t he Swit ch can send t o t he syslog
server in one bat ch. This num ber is expressed as a rat e because t he bat ch frequency
is det erm ined by t he Log I n t e r va l. You m ust configure t he syslog server (
on page 389) t o use t his. Ent er 0 if you do not want t he Swit ch t o send log m essages
generat ed by ARP packet s t o t he syslog server.
The relat ionship bet ween Syslog r a t e and Log in t e r va l is illust rat ed in t he following
exam ples:
• 4 invalid ARP packet s per second, Syslog r a t e is 5, Log in t e r va l is 1: t he Swit ch
sends 4 syslog m essages every second.
• 6 invalid ARP packet s per second, Syslog r a t e is 5, Log in t e r va l is 2: t he Swit ch
sends 5 syslog m essages every 2 seconds.
Ent er how oft en ( 1- 86400 seconds) t he Swit ch sends a bat ch of syslog m essages t o
t he syslog server. Ent er 0 if you want t he Swit ch t o send syslog m essages
im m ediat ely. See Syslog r a t e for an exam ple of t he relat ionship bet ween Syslog
r a t e and Log int e r va l.
Click Apply t o save your changes t o t he Swit ch's run- t im e m em ory. The Swit ch loses
t hese changes if it is t urned off or loses power, so use t he Sa ve link on t he t op
navigat ion panel t o save your changes t o t he non- volat ile m em ory when you are done
configuring.
Click t his t o reset t he values in t his screen t o t heir last- saved values.
