Chapter 17 Link Aggregation
DESCRIPTION
LACP syst em priorit y is a num ber bet ween 1 and 65,535. The swit ch wit h t he lowest syst em
priorit y ( and lowest port num ber if syst em priorit y is t he sam e) becom es t he LACP " server ".
The LACP " server " cont rols t he operat ion of LACP set up. Ent er a num ber t o set t he priorit y of
an act ive port using Link Aggregat ion Cont rol Prot ocol ( LACP) . The sm aller t he num ber, t he
higher t he priorit y level.
The field ident ifies t he link aggregat ion group, t hat is, one logical link cont aining m ult iple
port s.
Select t his opt ion t o enable LACP for a t runk.
This field displays t he port num ber.
Set t ings in t his row apply t o all port s.
Use t his row only if you want t o m ake som e set t ings t he sam e for all port s. Use t his row first
t o set t he com m on set t ings and t hen m ake adj ust m ent s on a port- by- port basis.
Note: Changes in this row are copied to all the ports as soon as you make them.
Tim eout is t he t im e int erval bet ween t he individual port exchanges of LACP packet s in order
t o check t hat t he peer port in t he t runk group is st ill up. I f a port does not respond aft er t hree
t ries, t hen it is deem ed t o be " down" and is rem oved from t he t runk. Set a short t im eout
( one second) for busy t runked links t o ensure t hat disabled port s are rem oved from t he t runk
group as soon as possible.
Select eit her 1 second or 30 seconds.
Click Apply t o save your changes t o t he Swit ch's run- t im e m em ory. The Swit ch loses t hese
changes if it is t urned off or loses power, so use t he Sa ve link on t he t op navigat ion panel t o
save your changes t o t he non- volat ile m em ory when you are done configuring.
Click Ca n ce l t o begin configuring t his screen afresh.
