Clust ering Manager
Act ive Select Act ive t o have t his Swit ch becom e t he clust er m anager swit ch. A clust er can
only have one m anager. Ot her ( direct ly connect ed) swit ches t hat are set t o be clust er
m anagers will not be visible in t he Clu st e r in g Ca n dida t e s list . I f a swit ch t hat was
previously a clust er m em ber is lat er set t o becom e a clust er m anager, t hen it s St a t u s is
displayed as Er r or in t he Clu st e r M a n a ge m e n t St a t us screen and a warning icon

Nam e Type a nam e t o ident ify t he Clu st e r in g M a n a ge r . You m ay use up t o 32 print able
charact ers ( spaces are allowed) .
VI D This is t he VLAN I D and is only applicable if t he Swit ch is set t o 8 0 2 .1 Q VLAN. All
swit ches m ust be direct ly connect ed and in t he sam e VLAN group t o belong t o t he sam e
clust er. Swit ches t hat are not in t he sam e VLAN group are not visible in t he Clu st e r in g
Ca n dida t e s list . This field is ignored if t he Clust e r ing M a n a ge r is using Por t - ba se d
VLAN.
Apply Click Apply t o save your changes t o t he Swit ch's run- t im e m em ory. The Swit ch loses
t hese changes if it is t urned off or loses power, so use t he Sa ve link on t he t op
navigat ion panel t o save your changes t o t he non-volat ile m em ory when you are done
configuring.
Cancel Click Ca n ce l t o begin configuring t his screen afresh.
Clust ering The following fields relat e t o t he swit ches t hat are pot ent ial clust er m em bers.
Candidat e
List A list of suit able candidat es found by aut o- discovery is shown here. The swit ches m ust
be direct ly connect ed. Direct ly connect ed swit ches t hat are set t o be clust er m anagers
will not be visible in t he Clu st e r in g Ca n dida t e list . Swit ches t hat are not in t he sam e
m anagem ent VLAN group will not be visible in t he Clu st e r in g Ca n dida t e list .
Password Each clust er m em ber 's password is it s web configurat or password. Select a m em ber in
t he Clu st e r in g Ca n dida t e list and t hen ent er it s web configurat or password. I f t hat
swit ch adm inist rat or changes t he web configurat or password aft erwards, t hen it cannot
be m anaged from t he Clu st e r M a n a ge r. I t s St a t u s is displayed as Er r or in t he
Clust e r M a n a ge m e n t St a t u s screen.
I f m ult iple devices have t he sam e password t hen hold [ SHI FT] and click t hose swit ches
t o select t hem . Then ent er t heir com m on web configurat or password.
Add Click Add t o save your changes t o t he Swit ch's run- t im e m em ory. The Swit ch loses
t hese changes if it is t urned off or loses power, so use t he Sa ve link on t he t op
navigat ion panel t o save your changes t o t he non-volat ile m em ory when you are done

MacAddr This is t he clust er m em ber swit ch's hardware MAC address.
Nam e This is t he clust er m em ber swit ch's Syst e m N a m e .
Model This is t he clust er m em ber swit ch's m odel nam e.
Select an ent ry's check box t o select a specific ent ry. Ot herwise, select t he check box in
t he t able heading row t o select all ent ries.
Rem ove Click t he Re m ove but t on t o rem ove t he select ed clust er m em ber swit ch( es) from t he
clust er.
Cancel Click Ca n ce l t o begin configuring t his screen afresh.
